JDK'S Herschel

(April 1988 - April 1999)

 Herschel was the first basset hound we owned.  He was our very special pet.  Herschel loved toys, birthday parties, company and his daily walks.  He was the trainer for many of our show puppies as they learned to walk on a lead.

(May 1989 - July 1993)

Rosemary was our first AKC Champion.  She was a very sweet dog with a lot of energy.  She was not with us long, but we loved her and enjoyed her so much.

Sue Ellen was our foundation dam.  We finished Sue Ellen's championship with her winning a Group Fourth at the Ft. Worth Kennel Club.  She lived to be 12 years old and was the TOP PRODUCING Dam for the Basset Hound Club of America in 1995.  Sue Ellen's champion offspring include Ch. Morningwood Miss Shelby S, Ch. Morningwood's Song of Bernadette, CD, Ch. Morningwood Sir Charlz Barkly, Ch. Morningwood Air Jordan, Am/Can Ch. Morningwood Ulysses S. Grant, ROM, Ch. Morningwood Sara and Ch. Morningwood Miss Annabelle.


                

Ch. Morningwood Sir Charlz Barkly

(October 18, 1993 - March 25, 2004)

Rest Well, Old Friend.  Barkly was out of our first litter at Morningwood.  He went out as a Special at the age of six.  In that one year he won 68 Best of Breeds and 32 Group Placements.  He always showed his heart out and he had unmistakable style and grace.  Barkly retired to New Mexico where he spent the remainder of his life with his loving owner, Joe Smith.  We will always remember him as a dog with great courage and resilience.  He loved the show ring.  Barkly was handled by Kathy French.


Ch. Kastle's Morningwood Bentley

(August 17, 2002 - December 3, 2004)

Bentley won WD and Best of Winners at Chief Solano Kennel Club under Judge Elliott B. Weiss. Bentley is handled by his owner Mary Squire-Reed. Bentley is sired by Am/Can/Mex/FCI Int'l/Int'l/Gr.Mex/Lat.Am/Aust Ch. Morningwood Beaumont and dam, Ch. Dreamland Joy O'Morningwood, ROM

 


 
Bentley won WD/BOS under Judge Elaine Rigden at the Richmond Dog Fanciers Show. Bentley was bred by Jean North, Bearcreek Bassets and David and Barba Keene, Morningwood Kennel, Reg. Bentley will be remembered for his wonderful sweet temperament.

Am/Int.Ch. Morningwood Bearcreek Jabbathehut

2002-2008

Jabba was an International Best in Show dog and finished his AKC Championship with three five-point majors in one weekend. He was a Beaumont/Joy son and was a very sweet dog. He sired two American champions and one Mexican champion.

Ch. Morningwood Miss Annabelle

1996-2006

Annabelle was the sweetest basset we have ever had, and one of the most talkative.

Ch. Morningwood Miss Shelby S

1993-2006

Shelby was out of our first litter. She finished with back to back five-point majors. She always answered to her nickname,Miz Beasley.
